Bulgaria’s Sacrifices and Contributions

The Treaty of Bucharest unfairly divided territory, and Bulgaria was the country that sacrificed the most but received the least. Despite this, Bulgaria has shown itself most deserving of new land. Bulgaria is the only country that has:

Given its new citizens full political rights A Military Agreement to Support the Treaty.

Allowed them religious freedom.

Included them under the country’s free constitution.

On the other hand, Roumania, Serbia, and Greece have denied their new citizens these basic rights. They have treated the newly acquired land as conquered territory and imposed strict rules on them.

The Triple Entente’s Dilemma

Can the Triple Entente Powers (Britain, France, Russia) seriously consider handing over Austrian land to Roumania, which has a weak constitution, a limited voting system, and a population suffering from poverty and discontent due to its outdated land system Istanbul Religion Tours?

Similarly, can they hand over Austrian territory to Serbia, given Serbia’s past actions, such as the events in Sarajevo and the crimes in Macedonia? Just because Serbia is fighting against Austria doesn’t mean its wrongdoings should be overlooked.

The Triple Entente Powers are fighting to save Serbia, but does this mean they should not demand that Serbia act honestly and fairly?

The Question of Broken Treaties

Can a lasting peace be built on three broken treaties? One of the treaties is secret, but it was approved by Russia, and the other two were approved by all the major powers.

Can public right, as a principle of European policy (as mentioned by Mr. Asquith in his speech in Dublin), align with the treatment of a powerful group of people in the Balkans who have shown strong unity and identity?

Mr. Asquith’s speech gives hope for a better future in Europe. His ideas reflect a higher standard than any message sent during this war. This vision for public right was first introduced by the great Gladstone 44 years ago.
